The warehouse refurbishment is a 200m long ‘supershed’ containing five 800m² standalone business units with individual service yards, loading bay access and cores. The new building incorporates the reuse of the original slab and frame, a new sustainably insulated roof and a multicoloured cladding system. Responding to both the scale of the building and its landscape setting at the edge of the marshes, the light industrial building is expressed as 40m wide strips of vibrant colour. We provided all mechanical, electrical and sustainability services including drainage and utilities. The building achieves BREEAM ‘Very Good’ certification.
