Baltimore Wharf encompasses 1,466 apartments, retail and community facilities. The mixed-use residential development comprises of a 2-storey basement with car parking, 45-storey residential tower with 366 apartments, a 17-storey residential block with 91 apartments and a 21-storey apart hotel with 195 serviced apartments and 143 hotel rooms. The phased project includes restaurants, five-a-side football pitch, swimming pool, offices, health club and day-care facilities.
Arena Tower represents the second phase of works. All apartment floors feature expansive, cantilevered balconies that are elliptical in plan; the balconies’ axial rotation on the tower plan produces the building’s undulating form. The glazed outer rings shift at each level by minute degrees, providing solar shading for private balconies and terraces and, in turn, creating a distinctive visual twist. We provided all mechanical and electrical detailed design for the shell and core works from RIBA Stage 4 through to completion. We created an IES model of the building to calculate heating and cooling loads using the CIBSE steady state method.
