Juxon Street, Lambeth, is a development of 39 one bed and two bed affordable apartments for local first-time buyers. The underutilised site on the leafy China Walk Estate was redeveloped to provide a new five-storey building between existing 1960’s blocks.
The homes were built using modular construction, speeding up the delivery of much needed affordable homes and minimising disruption to local residents. The design addressed the five-storey context and works with the neighbouring Sail Street development to enclose a public garden to improve the visual amenity of neighbouring properties.
The ecological green footprint of the site is enhanced with carefully designed patios, courtyards and green roofs with low maintenance planting. The scheme includes communal roof terraces with great views across central London and secure cycle storage.
